How can we stay connected to Alive Yoga outside of class?

We love the yoga community that we have created here in Kuwait, as well as our yogi friends from around the World. Stay connected with us through Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and our monthly newsletter. Find the links to these pages at the top or bottom of the page. If you have a specific question, you can fill out our Contact Us form, and we will get back to you.

What does Namaste mean?

Namaste’ (nah-mah-stay) is a gesture or salutation. At the end of each yoga class, you will see the teacher and members bring their hands together at their heart-centers and say Namaste to each other. Namaste is a salutation of respect and honor. There are many meanings that are all very similar. A short version is, “The light in me honors the light in you.” A longer version is, “I honor the place in you, where the entire Universe dwells.
I honor the place in you, which is of light, of truth, of hope, and of peace.
When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me,
 We are One.”

How often should I practice yoga?

To experience the benefits that yoga has to offer, we recommend a minimum of twice per week and a maximum of six.

I’m not flexible. Can I still do yoga?

Absolutely! Everyone can do yoga – and we mean it! With every yoga class you join, you will notice a difference with your flexibility.

What if I have an injury?

Having an injury shouldn’t prevent you from practicing yoga. In fact, yoga can help heal many of them. When coming to class, make sure to let the instructor know about your injury before getting started.

What classes are best for beginners?

You can join any of our classes if you have experience with yoga. However, we still recommend trying our Level 1 classes just to get a feel for our classes.

What classes are appropriate for me if I am not new to yoga and am at an intermediate or advanced level?

I am text block. Click edit button to change this text. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

How do I book for classes?

You can book by scrolling up to our Schedules page or free application and pay at the studio when you arrive. Click Here to download our application.

What do I wear?

In general, members are most comfortable in clothing that allows for the body to move freely and unrestricted. You can wear whatever you would wear to the gym. Clothing with buttons, zippers or snaps is not recommended. We have clothing for men and women for sale at the studio as well.

How early should I arrive at the studio before my first class?

We strongly recommend you arrive at least 20 minutes before your first class. This will give us time to show you around the studio and for you to fill out for new member form. Please note that we do not allow late entries to any of our classes.

What do I need to bring with me?

Alive Yoga is full service. This means that we have everything you need to complete your yoga practice. You can bring a mat if you’d like; however, it’s not necessary if you don’t have one. When you decide you love yoga and want your own, we have them for sale for your convenience.
